The 30 Day Squat Challenge

tomorrow (noun)
A mystical land where 99% of all human productivity, motivation and achievement is stored.

Sooo... today is a Monday, the one and only day of the week when women can start diets and challenges.
As I previously mentioned in a post, my body is far from what it should be and it's mainly because I love food, I mean I LOOOOVE food! *
I need to lose 12 kg-s as of right now, that's 26.5 pounds : (
Today I promised myself again that I will start running regularly, looked at funny running tanks, motivating running quotes and some amazing looking bodies of women who may or may not run.

And yes, I did go for a run! Well, OK, it was rather a jog and some walking too but hey, I did it! My beginner running goal is 5 km-s and I will try to go at least 4 times this week. Addition to this I added this "fun" challenge to help my bum and tights to shape up for summer, it's the dreaded "30 Day Squat Challenge".
I already tried it once but gave up on like day 3 because I nearly died doing 50 squats and couldn't imagine doing even more the next day...

Well I just read it today that you have to do them in 1 day but not at once! Makes so much more sense now : )
So the challenge shall begin tonight! I downloaded an app for it to follow my progress, I am just trying to add some fun to it. I will also take some before pictures so i can compare them at the end (if I ever reach the end that is)

*And I hate exercising and I'm getting older too... Did i mention I love food?

Have you tried the 30 Day Squat Challenge? Did it work for you? Comment below!

Superfood Sunday: Spirulina

superfood  (noun)
A nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.

Today I wanted to write about Spirulina, a type of blue-green algae that is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids, antioxidants that can help protect cells from damage caused by toxins affecting the heart, liver, kidneys, neurons, eyes, ovaries, DNA, and testicles.
The complete protein found in spirulina represents between 55 and 77 % of the dry weight of this alga. The fact that it is complete means that it includes all essential amino acids. By comparison, protein constitutes only 27 % of meat and 34 % of soy...

It contains a wide range of vitamins:
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin B complex
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin K
and an impressive array of minerals:
  • Boron
  • Calcium
  • Chloride
  • Chromium
  • Copper
  • Germanium
  • Iodine
  • Iron
  • Manganese
  • Magnesium
  • Molybdenum
  • Phosphorus
  • Potassium
  • Selenium
  • Sodium
  • Zinc
And it's not all! You can also find a bunch of essential fatty acids in it:
  • AA (arachidonic acid)
  • ALA (alpha-linolenic acid)
  • DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
  • EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)
  • GLA (gamma-linolenic acid)
  • LA (linoleic acid)
  • SDA (stearidonic acid)
Now that's a SuperFood : )

So what is it good for?

Detoxifies your body
Restores nutrients
It can help prevent allergies
Reinforce your immune system
Lower stroke and cancer risks
Control high blood pressure and cholesterol
To treat candida overgrowth
Encourage and support the growth of healthy bacterial flora in your gut

How to consume it?

I buy it in the form of powder, as I think most people do, but it's also available as tablets and flakes.
I personally think it tastes disgusting when you mix it with water, so I put about 1 tbs in 500 ml of orange juice and you can hardly taste it ; )

Spirulina has the potential to become contaminated with heavy metals and other toxins so it is important to choose organic spirulina from a reputable source!

I recently signed up for Tinder to have some fun despite of it being labeled as a place for one-night stands and  hookups. So far I haven't met any creeps so I take credit for my amazing ability to decide if someone is an axe-murderer or a perv in a matter of 2 seconds...
And while I haven't met my Prince Charming either it's definitely fun to swipe left and right and occasionally come across a hot guy ; )
Unfortunately mostly though I see dudes who commit the same annoying "Tinder Crime" which is:
- No picture at all *NOPE*
- Pictures of random things only, like cartoons or cars *NOPE*
- Group picture with a bunch of guys *NOPE*
- A picture of a guy posing with his GF/ wife *NOPE*
- A picture of a guy posing with his child/baby *NOPE*
- Dude standing far away, again I can't see your face nor your body *NOPE*
- A  guy with his middle finger flipping me (?) off *NOPE*
- Just a bunch of douchey half-naked pictures flexing their muscles  *NOPE*

But what happens when you get matched up with a creepy perv?
You can either block them or try a funny way to objectify them like InstaGranniePants : D
